This Woman is Living in a Tiny House with Rescue Animals

  • by

Michelle chose to build a tiny house near Columbus, Ohio, after living on a boat in New York City. Living in her little home allows her to spend more time with her family and friends, as well as pursue her passion of animal rescue and care. On an acre of land in Beloit, Ohio, she lives in a tiny house with a lovely Boxer and six rescue cats. She is able to care for these creatures and work in a non-profit animal shelter since she lives in a little house with low expenses. Michelle, like many others, initially learned about tiny houses via television shows in which people are shown entering tiny houses made by professionals. Michelle, on the other hand, did things a little differently; she was able to strip a 16-foot cabin down to its bare frame and then completely rebuild the home you see now.

She only has a little molding and painting to do in the loft now that the house is 95 percent finished. She previously used a composting toilet, but she intends to replace it with a flush toilet in the future. It took her around one and a half years to complete the job. Her ex-husband was able to assist her in his driveway, which led her to the shell. She then completed the interior by installing the windows, deck, and siding herself. It was merely a shell for the first few months of her stay, and she was allowed to create her ideal living space exactly how she wanted it.

She began with an L-shaped window seat with seating for four people and a china cabinet to house her mother’s antique china, which was a must-have for her. Mary now lives full-time on a 300-acre farm that the owner divided into smaller portions as a result of the transformation. She has electricity, running water, and a septic system out there, and she’s even grown her own garden on an acre of property. She also intends to have a chicken coop and goats. Then she wants to start her own animal rescue and construct the facility herself. She found the land for her tiny house on Craigslist, and despite the fact that it was the most difficult aspect of going tiny, she is quite delighted with where she ended up. She now has more time to spend with her family and animals, as she works less and relaxes more. The little house she designed is a blend of modern and Victorian style, with a fresh white front and black shutters and fixtures. With a charming little deck on the front with enough space for a table and chairs set or some rocking seats, the outside appears extremely inviting.

The house is decorated in a rustic manner with florals and gingham on the inside. She made sure to incorporate plenty of storage in the house, which is ideal for all of the antiques she has on show. It reminds me of a life-size dollhouse. Even the stairway leading up to the loft is made of a cabinet and some storage to house books and other stuff, and it is well-built and easy to climb up to the loft. She also has a kitchen where she can prepare delicious meals, as well as a bathroom in the back. She even has a lovely electric fireplace with a lovely mantle that she has adorned with flowers and antiques. This is a fantastic tiny house to be inspired by, and it demonstrates that anyone can realize their tiny house aspirations.
