This wood cabin near Bent Mountain, Virginia, has a lot going for it. Located on top of Bent Mountain, this log cabin provides breathtaking views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, including the Roanoke Valley and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which span more than 100 miles. The cottage is part of a 450-acre farm and is quite private, affording a tranquil mountain environment. There are miles of horse and hiking paths right outside your door. Antique pieces and fine linens and bedding may be seen throughout the log cabin. Relax in front of the outdoor stone fireplace and gaze at the stars throughout your holiday. Twenty-five minutes is all it takes to go to Roanoke’s best restaurants, nightlife, and the regional airport.

The log cabin has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two queen-sized mattresses, linens provided, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, a fireplace (wood provided), a television that only plays DVDs, and no cable or satellite. There are no pets or smoking allowed. The log cabin offers a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, a gas fireplace in the master bedroom, and a gas fireplace in the outside living area, as well as stunning views of the surrounding mountains, air conditioning, heating, bedding provided, a washing machine, and a clothes dryer. The cabin features its own parking area, complimentary towels, an iron and board, a bathroom with a shower and toilet paper, a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, grill, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, and utensils, and a bathroom with a shower. There is a kitchen, a dining room, an indoor and outdoor table that can seat four, and a TV with DVD and Blu-ray capabilities. There are books and a deck outside the cabin as well.

Nearby attractions include Bent Mountain Bistro (1.5 miles), AmRhein’s Wine Cellars (4.7 miles), Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve (5.5 miles), and Carlos Brazilian International Cuisine (1.3 miles). You can get to Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea in 9 miles, Blue Apron in 9.1 miles, Local Roots in 9.4 miles, and Montano’s International Gourmet in 7.5 miles. The majestic mountains of Virginia’s Blue Ridge are wonderful sites for trail setters. Cahas Mountain, Read Mountain, and the Peaks of Otter are all great options for an eastern vacation, while the gems of Catawba Mountain in the western direction feature popular and renowned peaks. Here are a few suggestions for how to spend your time in the region.

Hiking enthusiasts in search of beautiful scenery should visit Falls. This hike requires careful preparation. The round-trip distance of the Bent Mountain hike is around five miles, so plan on spending about two hours on the trail.

Leave Roanoke via Brambleton Avenue and continue on Bent Mountain Road until you reach Callaway Road and the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is Route 221. Traveling along Route 221, you’ll see a variety of landscapes, including agriculture, forests, and open fields with grazing livestock. Stop into the Floyd Country Store, site of the legendary Friday Night Jamboree concerts, if you find yourself on Route 221 in Floyd.
