This rustic wood cabin building from the 1950s in Verona, Ontario, Canada, is about as good as it gets. The log house rental has two bedrooms, each with two beds, and one bathroom. It can fit up to four people. While you’re on vacation, you’ll have the whole house to yourself. This log house is more than 200 years old and has been beautifully restored. It is on a 200-acre farm with 2,000 feet of water frontage on Desert Lake. The Canadian Shield is a natural paradise like this one. In the loft of the rustic log building, there is a king-sized bed. There is a full kitchen and a bathroom with a shower and three pieces. The log house is a quiet place to stay. It’s not often that a private vacation rental has a 200-acre farm on the water with 2,000 feet of beautiful Desert Lake shores. Through the woods and pasture, you can follow the horse tracks. Enjoy going through trees that have been there for hundreds of years and haven’t been changed. This is a real part of the Canadian Shield. You should bring a camera and a map.
The log house has everything you need for a holiday, and you can rent it all year long. The log house has a sleeping loft with a king-sized bed and a small bedroom on the main floor with an old brass double bed. The cabin hire includes sheets and towels, which are cleaned and sanitized off-site after each guest stays there. The kitchen, dining room, and living room in the rustic log house are all open to each other and have a woodstove. The house building is best for a couple, but it can easily fit up to four people—two couples, if possible. Wood is also given away for free. The log house building has a large covered deck in the back and a covered porch that goes all the way around. The log house is comfortable all year long because it has a central heating system and air conditioning.
Modern tools like a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, water cooler, electric water kettle, and a barbecue are in the cabin building. The log house has everything a guest of up to 4 people would need to feel at home. The building of the house has a 40-inch flat-screen TV with a Blu-ray player and a variety of DVDs. You can use the wifi as much as you want. Simple seasonings like salt, pepper, sugar, etc. are all there.
When you stay in the log building, you’ll have access to 2,000 feet of private, clean shoreline on beautiful Desert Lake, as well as 200 acres of woods and fields to hike and explore. This is neither a hotel nor a campsite. With this much room, you can be sure to have a lot of time to yourself. The private beach on Desert Lake has a big floating dock with ladders, and the water is clean and great for swimming. When it’s warm, you’ll want to bring your boats, kayaks, canoes, or use the ones that are already there. They also have PFDs and a boat and two kayaks. If you have a powered boat, you can get on the water at a public boat launch just 3 minutes down the road, where Holleford and Desert Lake meet. This is near the Desert Lake Campground. You can get in the boats and experience Desert Lake, Birch Lake, Mitchell Creek, and Kingsford Lake, which are all connected to Frontenac Provincial Park by water.
You can drive or walk along a very private road for 5 or 10 minutes to get to the private waterfront on the farm. During the summer, a few cows and horses live on the farm and graze on small open fields that are tucked between the trees. The Canadian Shield forest covers most of the farm, with patches of grass here and there. This place is great for people who love nature.
