It’s a great place for families and friends to go on vacation to get some fresh mountain air, see beautiful views, and relax and re-energize. One thing you’ll love about this cabin is that it’s surrounded by beautiful nature, but it’s only 9 minutes from some of the best restaurants and shops in the area. In front of the house, there are two (or maybe three) places to park. On the three-minute drive up to the house, you’ll be on a gravel road. Even though it’s not hard to drive there, the owners suggest AWD or 4WD for safety and comfort.
During your time off in Sylvia, you could go for a hike. The Jackson County Ale Trail is one trail in town that is fun to explore even after the sun goes down. It has been called one of the Top 10 American Brewery Tours, and it all starts with Sylva’s growing brewing scene. On Sylva’s Historic Main Street, you can try more than 100 beers on tap. Or, you can pick up the official trail guide to find out what the top 10 area beers are. Most of these breweries have special parties and live music.
The Great Smoky Mountains are all around the town, and there are lots of water-based outdoor activities just steps away. There are several waterfalls in Panthertown Valley, which is part of Nantahala National Forest. You can go to the famous Schoolhouse Falls, Greenland Creek Falls, Wilderness Falls, or Frolictown Falls and dip your toes in one of our cool mountain streams. About 2,600 people live in Sylvia, which is the county and culture center of Jackson County. There are a lot of art galleries, bookstores, farm-to-table restaurantss, craft breweries, and coffee shopss in Sylva’s lively center. Also, the state’s most photos are taken of the old building.
