This recently sold log cabin sits on more than 150 acres of highly wooded land and is surrounded by 2,000 acres of Crown land. It is on a dead-end road near the small town of Bergen, Alberta, and you will fall in love with it. The log house has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a stove in the living room that runs on wood. The deck is a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. It’s a great place to get away from the problems of the world. Along with the large garden, there is also a cedar greenhouse on the land, which helps to extend the growing season. The log home is very quaint and has a lot of old things in it as well. In the bathroom on the main floor, there is an old sink. There is a 100-year-old tin roof in the basement, and a sink from 1930 is in the bathroom. The towel holder is also from the Banff Springs Hotel. This place is full of treasures after treasures. The present owners have even ridden horses to Banff National Park without having to cross any private land.
Banff and Lake Louise have a long history of being two of the most beautiful mountain spots in the world. Both Banff and Lake Louise have plenty to do for a lifetime. They are close to pristine forests, have a lot of outdoor activities, have jaw-dropping sights, and have a rich history and culture. Mount Rundle, Sulphur Mountain, Mount Norquay, and Cascade Mountain are all in the area around the town. From downtown Banff, you can walk, go horseback riding, visit the best natural hot springs in Alberta, go shopping, and of course eat good food.
With so many things to do in the Canadian Rockies, you’ll want to spend as much time as possible in Banff National Park. One way to do this is with Banff Adventures, where you can drive an Ice Explorer car across the huge Columbia Icefields. Take in the views as you walk over glass paths on the Skywalk, ride in the Banff, Lake Louise, or Sunshine gondolas, or ride the Mount Norquay Chairlift, which looks down on the town of Banff. From high points, you might be able to see everything around you, learn interesting things about the unique ecological system, and see the past of the planet written in the stones under your feet.
Bergen is also close to Sundre, Alberta, which is right on Alberta’s famous Cowboy Trail. Sundre is less than 90 minutes from downtown Calgary, making it easy to visit but still a bit off the main path. Between the beautiful Canadian Rockies and the rolling slopes and prairies of southern Alberta, Sundre and the surrounding area are great places to get outside, enjoy the small-town feel, and explore the beautiful natural areas that surround it. Sundre is a great place to visit if you want to learn about Alberta’s early settlers at the museum, get up close and personal with horses, play golf, or see some of Alberta’s most beautiful and wild nature.
