Lake George is about a 13-minute drive away, Gore Mountain is about 20 minutes away, and Crane Mountain has abundance of hiking routes. The Hudson River is about 3 miles away, and there are numerous additional water and activity options within a short drive if you enjoy tubing or kayaking.

Outlet shopping is also available just south of Lake George on Rt 9, with over 50 outlet stores all in one location. The cottage is accessible to all of the area’s services, activities, and events while still being far enough away to appreciate nature’s quiet and tranquility. There are no pets allowed. The Adirondack Ranch is an ideal home base for your visit to the area, with activities to enjoy throughout the year. Some seasonal activities to attempt include the ones listed below.

Winter in the Adirondacks. A week-long Winter Carnival celebrates the best of the snowy season by bringing communities and visitors together through cast iron frying pan throws, parades, and spectacle. Outside of town, snowshoers and cross-country skiers traverse snow-covered routes. Winter camping in the Adirondacks is the most daring of winter activities. For winter conditions and safety advice, visit a local outfitter or tour service.

In the Adirondacks, spring has arrived. Spring has become a popular season among the residents of upstate New York. The warmer days encourage the flow of sap from sugar maple trees, which is then used to make a stack of pancakes. You may enjoy the maple sweetness in Adirondack maple syrup cabins. As the snow melts, more water flows into streams and brooks, resulting in stunning waterfalls within a short distance from the trailheads. More vistas of the region await now that the snow has melted from barren tree limbs.

The Adirondacks in the summer. The Adirondack Mountains and lakes are especially beautiful at this time of year. Hikers will want to explore the 46 High Peaks once they arrive. Shorter hiking trails abound as well, with spectacular vistas along the way. Take Rooster Comb, a 2.5-mile moderate hike with spectacular views. Lakeshores are becoming increasingly popular for swimming and picnic dinners as the sun sets later and later into the evening. While paddling a kayak or visiting a public beach, you can soak up the mountain lake atmosphere. Boat tours on lakes around the Adirondacks, such as the Lake George Steamboat Company’s legendary Minne-Ha-Ha, are offered all summer long to immerse yourself in nature while learning about the Adirondacks.
